Almádena-Cabanas Velhas is a coastal bathing water located on a golden sand beach with restricted use, situated within the Natural Park of Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina and a Natura 2000 site. The beach features eroded and indented limestone cliffs and extends 500 metres. At high tide, the beach becomes narrow. The area experiences a tidal range of 3.4–3.5 metres and mean wave height of 1 metre, with winds typically from the north-northwest.
