Ammersee lake. Regular monitoring has been conducted in the Riederau leisure facility area for decades.

Location

Riederau, next to the steam ship landing stage (Dampferanlegestelle).

Season

Monitoring conducted during 2025 bathing season: April 28 through September 1, 2025.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: All samples from the 2025 bathing season were bacteriologically acceptable. Enterococcus and Escherichia coli levels remained within limits throughout the season. Limit values have been consistently met in recent years.

Risks

Short-term water quality impairment is possible from extreme heavy rain events with potential sewage overflow opening. High numbers of water birds near the adjacent steam ship dock may lead to faecal contamination. Feeding water birds is discouraged.
