Askimsbadet is one of Gothenburg's most popular bathing spots, featuring a long shallow sandy beach and expansive grassy areas for play, games, and sunbathing. The site includes Sweden's longest bathing pier at 259 meters in length, from which swimmers can access the water. The beach and adjacent grassy areas form Gothenburg's largest bathing place, covering six hectares with a soft sand bottom. Ramps leading to the sandy beach and from the pier facilitate access for wheelchair users. During peak season, lifeguards are present at the facility.
