Blast Beach lies along the Durham Heritage Coast near Nose's Point and Seaham, reached by a steep flight of steps down the cliffside. The shoreline is covered in pebbles and stones of varying sizes, with black sand, clay formations, and pools shaped by the area's former coal mining activity, and cliffs where birds nest overhead. Parking is available near Nose's Point, with an alternative approach on foot from Seaham taking around 30 to 40 minutes; no facilities are present on site.
