Shippersea Bay sits on the east Durham coastal path between Easington and Seaham, near Easington Colliery. The beach is bordered by rocky shore and cliffs, reached on foot from Hawthorn Hive or Easington Beach when the tide is out, as direct cliff descents are steep and unmarked. No facilities are located at the bay itself; the nearest car park is at Easington Colliery.
