June 21st to August 31st, 2025. Sampling frequency: 1 sample per week.

Water Quality

Water quality classification in 2024 conducted according to Decreto-Lei 135/09 of June 3rd, amended by Decreto-Lei nº 113/2012 of May 23rd. Zero days of bathing being advised against or prohibited due to short-term pollution events in the 2024 bathing season. No occurrences of short-term pollution (duration of 72 hours or less) recorded.

Risks

Diffuse pollution sources upstream from agricultural or forestry activities and solid waste from beach activities. High number of users. Cyanobacteria and phytoplankton have a likely potential for proliferation.
