Very long sandy beach located on the south side of Óbidos Lagoon with clear and calm waters. The beach extends across a vast sandy area and is favoured by windsurfing enthusiasts. A volleyball area and mobile library are available at the site.

Location

Óbidos Municipality, on the right bank of Óbidos Lagoon, south side. Coordinates: latitude 39.425367°, longitude -9.235183° (ETRS89).

Volleyball area, mobile library.

Season

30 June to 15 September (2021 season).

Water Quality

Water quality classification 2020 under Decreto-Lei 135/09 (as amended). Monitoring frequency: biweekly. No history of short-term pollution events in 2020. Contamination risk is very low based on water quality history.

Risks

Potential microbiological pollution from Óbidos Lagoon, though risk is assessed as very low. Proliferation potential for cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton is unlikely.
