Water Quality

Water quality classification 2020 under Decreto-Lei 135/09. Biweekly sampling frequency. Very low microbiological contamination risk. No days of bathing restriction due to short-term pollution occurred in bathing season 2020.

Risks

Short-term pollution events are unlikely but may occur due to excessive river discharge during heavy rainfall, typically lasting 1-2 days. Cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton proliferation are all unlikely.
