Böndlsee is a natural lake located on elevated terrain on the left side of the Salzach valley near the mouth of the Dientenbach stream. The lake has a total surface area of 1.7 hectares and sits at an elevation of 845 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by agricultural land and bordered by moorland on one side. The lake lies in the centre of the Böndlsee landscape protection area.
