Bova Est is an excellent quality coastal bathing water located in the municipality of Bova Marina in the Calabria region. The beach features a sandy and pebbly composition with a geomorphological descriptor of a coastal plain and alluvial fan area. The bathing area extends 1.11 square kilometres and is situated in front of the inhabited centre of Bova Marina.

Location

Bova Marina, Calabria region, Reggio Calabria province. The bathing area is located in front of the town centre of Bova Marina.

Water quality classification: Excellent. No specific measures are currently in place for wastewater treatment.

Risks

The mouth of the Torrente Sideroni has been identified as a potential pollution source. Short-duration pollution events may occur from urban runoff from urban areas, with the Municipality and Province responsible. No abnormal situations or harmful algal blooms have been verified in the past four years.
