Classification status: awaiting classification. No short-term pollution events have been detected. No anomalous events have been recorded. Cyanobacterial monitoring has been conducted at representative zones including Pianello Lario and campground areas.

Risks

Cyanobacterial presence was detected in previous monitoring (2009): Planktothrix, Aphanizomenon Flos Aquae, and Snowella Lacustris were identified at concentrations exceeding 5,000,000 cells/L. Microcystin concentrations exceeded 1 microgram/L on multiple occasions in 2009. No macroalgae proliferation has been detected. No toxic events have been reported.
