Camping Punta Alice is a bathing water area located in Cirò Marina, Calabria. The beach is composed of sand and pebbles with a narrow strip extending into shallow waters. The area is situated in front of the inhabited centre of Cirò Marina along the Ionian coast.

Coastal water body (Melissa - Cirò watercourse). Sandy-pebbly beach with an average seafloor slope of 1.4% from the waterline to the 5-meter isobath. Sediment grain size ranges from 0.13 to 2 millimeters. The bathing area extends over 0.902 square kilometers.

Location

Cirò Marina, in the province of Crotone, Calabria, Italy. The bathing area is located in front of the town centre.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is excellent. The area is monitored. Potential pollution sources include the biological treatment plant of Cirò Marina and the Olivitella Canal outlet. No specific mitigation measures are currently active.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events may occur due to accidental treatment plant failures or overflow from the Cirò Marina wastewater treatment plant. Cyanobacterial proliferation has not been documented in the last four years. Macroalgae and phytoplankton proliferation has not been documented in the last four years.
