Water Quality

Water quality classification: elevated. The Fondi-Itri hydrographic basin is the relevant water body. Two active urban treatment plants serving more than 2000 inhabitants are present in the municipality. Shellfish farming is identified as an impact source. Currently no specific monitoring programs are active to monitor pollutant concentrations during the bathing season.

Risks

An appropriate modeling approach for assessing short-duration pollution events is still under study. Shellfish farming is present in the area.
