A sandy and pebbly beach located in Grisolia, Calabria, in the Santa Maria del Cedro-Belvedere water body. The beach is characterized by coastal geomorphology typical of a flat alluvial fan plain. The area is fronted by wooded territories, semi-natural environments, and agricultural land. The bathing water has been classified as excellent quality.

Coastal water body. Area of 0.549 square kilometres.

Location

Grisolia, province of Cosenza, Calabria region. The bathing area is located 50 metres to the right of the Canale Acchio.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: excellent. The treatment plant is operational. Identified sources of pollution include the depuration plant and the discharge from Fosso S.Vincenzo.

Risks

Short-term pollution events can occur from accidental depuration plant failures or overflow, and from agricultural land use. The sea and internal waters are not affected by algal blooms or cyanobacteria.
