Careno Beach is located on the eastern shore of Lake Como in the municipality of Nesso, Lombardy. The beach is formed partly of natural sand and partly of grass, with a width of approximately 50 metres. Access is by foot through a pedestrian path that winds through the ancient village, featuring stairs and slopes. A restaurant is nearby.

Lake Como, located at an altitude of 203 metres above sea level. The bathing area extends approximately 50 metres along the eastern shore of the lake. Watershed: Adda basin.

Location

Municipality of Nesso, Como province, Lombardy. Accessible via a pedestrian path with stairs and slopes from inside the historic village. Parking is located at the beginning of the staircase on the provincial road connecting Como to Bellagio.

Water Quality

New bathing area classification. No anthropogenic activities are known that could promote eutrophication and cyanobacterial growth. No exceedances of regulatory thresholds have been recorded in the past four years. No previous events of harmful algal proliferation have been documented.
