Risks

Potential sources of pollution include the mouth of Vallone Rambotta and Fiumara Bonamico. Accidental failures of treatment plants at San Luca and Palizzi, as well as overflow events, have been identified as possible short-term pollution causes. No anomalous situations, harmful algal blooms, or cyanobacterial proliferation have been recorded in the preceding four years.
