Risks

There is an emergency/storm overflow from the Charlestown Overflow pumping station, that discharges to the sea off Polmeor Island 330m from the bathing water. There is an emergency/storm overflow from the Charlestown Harbour pumping station, that discharges to the sea off Polmeor Island 350m from the bathing water.
The operation of the overflows can lead to a temporary drop in bathing water quality.
