Caulonia, Reggio Calabria province, Calabria region, Italy. The site is located between the port of Roccella and the town centre of Caulonia.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The water body is monitored under official bathing water surveillance programmes. The Amusa Fiumara watercourse represents an identified pollution source.

Risks

Potential pollution risk from the mouth of the Amusa Fiumara. Short-term pollution events identified: accidental treatment plant failure and overflow from Caulonia treatment facility. No anomalous situations or algal proliferation events have been recorded in the past four years.
