Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Conta is a bathing water on Lake Garda in the municipality of Peschiera del Garda, Veneto. The beach faces north and is situated 100 metres from the SR11 road. The area is typical of the southern district of Garda, bordered by moraine hills formed from glacial deposits. The beach extends 10 to 20 metres in width and borders the mouth of the Rio Sermana to the west.

Water quality classification: excellent (2021–2024). E. coli at 95th percentile: 6.069; E. coli at 90th percentile: 4.44. Enterococci at 95th percentile: 5.874; Enterococci at 90th percentile: 4.316.

Risks

Municipal mixed-water drainage system is located adjacent to the beach. A consortial collector is present 100 metres south on the road. The Peschiera del Garda wastewater treatment plant discharges into the Mincio River. River mouths and the Rielo stream have been identified as pollution sources.
