Montalto di Castro, province of Viterbo, region of Lazio, Italy. The bathing area is located between the Chiarone River and Fiora Basin. A mooring point for boats is available in the area.

Water Quality

Classified as elevated quality at the 95th and 90th percentiles. There is no active specific monitoring of pollutant concentrations during the bathing season. Two active urban wastewater treatment plants serving more than 2000 population equivalents operate in the reference municipality. Mollusk cultivation is identified as a source of impact on bathing water.

Risks

No anomalous situations have been verified. The area is not subject to blooms of potentially toxic macroalgae or microalgae. Short-duration pollution events are still under study regarding an appropriate modeling approach.
