Pescia Romana is a bathing area located in Montalto di Castro in the province of Viterbo, Lazio. The beach has a sandy structure with equipped areas for bathers. The water body extends from the Chiarone River to the Fiora Basin. The area is not subject to blooms of potentially toxic macroalgae or microalgae.

Montalto di Castro, province of Viterbo, Lazio region. The bathing area extends for 1167 meters.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: elevated. Two active urban treatment plants serving populations over 2000 inhabitants per equivalent are present in the reference municipality. No specific monitoring activities are currently active to monitor pollutant concentrations and limit their spread during the bathing season.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events are under study for adequate modelling approaches. An appropriate modelling approach is still being developed.
