Plage de la Cotentin is a bathing beach located in Planguenoual, France, situated at a tombolo formation extending approximately 50 meters in a northwest-southeast direction. The beach has a maximum summer visitor frequency of around one hundred people and is accessible via a coastal path and stairs. The beach is part of an important shellfish harvesting zone and foot-fishing area. Dogs are prohibited from 15 June to 15 September under a municipal order enacted in 2015.

Water Quality

According to the 2017 ARS (Regional Health Agency) classification, bathing water quality is excellent under Directive 2006/7/CE. Monitoring results from 2014–2017 show consistent excellent quality. All 2017 results are of good quality, with values close to or below analytical detection thresholds. Regular improvement in quality has been observed since 2012. Microbiological indicators (Escherichia coli and Enterococci) are monitored by ARS.
