Water

Coastal bathing water located in the Kerlavos inlet area. The beach catchment basin covers 11.9 hectares and is urbanised with no hydrographic network.

Trégastel, Brittany, France. The beach has five main access points and parking areas, including one reserved for boat launching. A rescue post (SNSM) and harbourmaster's office are present on site.

Monitoring occurs during the bathing season with results published in ARS bulletins. Water quality data collected from 2013 to 2023.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored by the ARS (Regional Health Agency) through analysis of E. coli and intestinal enterococci. Historical data from 2013 to 2023 shows the 95th percentile trends for both parameters. The beach has been classified based on statutory thresholds distinguishing between Excellent, Good, and Sufficient quality levels. Potential pollution sources include wastewater collection and treatment systems, stormwater drainage systems, and agricultural activity on the catchment basin.

Risks

Algal blooms (ulva) have been recorded in the Trégastel area. Potential pollution risks from combined sewer overflows during heavy rainfall events and from inadequately connected individual treatment systems.
