Identified pollution sources include urban wastewater discharges, stormwater runoff, bird and animal contributions, port activities, ferry operations, river inputs, groundwater contributions, sediment inputs, cyanobacteria, phytoplankton, Ostreopsis, macro algae, jellyfish, and macro debris.

Identified risks include bacterial pollution from wastewater and stormwater discharges, cyanobacteria, phytoplankton blooms, Ostreopsis, macro algae, jellyfish, macro debris, and hydrocarbons. River plume dynamics and current patterns may transport pollutants to the bathing zone.
