Domanínský rybník is a small reservoir on the Bystřice River at an elevation of 565 metres. The water body covers 20 hectares and has a basic hydrological characteristic of 0.186. The surrounding catchment area is largely forested, with several small settlements on tributaries. Current water quality monitoring shows satisfactory conditions with excellent microbial quality, though phosphorus levels exceed long-term requirements for bathing waters.

Water Quality

Current assessment: satisfactory. Microbial contamination is excellent. Phosphorus content exceeds general regulatory requirements and long-term bathing water catchment requirements in isolated samples. No short-term pollution recorded. Historically, bathing bans were issued in 2007 due to microbial contamination and cyanobacteria. Chlorophyll-a levels exceeded limits until 2010 and now comply. Transparency occasionally falls below limit values. Thermotolerant coliform bacteria counts were historically exceeded. Cyanobacteria blooms were intense in the past but nearly absent in recent years.

Multiple pollution sources identified. Point source from Lísek municipality poses extreme risk due to insufficient wastewater treatment and extreme phosphorus input risk. Point source from Hotel Skalský dvůr poses high risk due to inadequate wastewater treatment and high phosphorus input risk. Diffuse sources from Bohuňov municipality pose extreme risk. Diffuse sources from parts of Lísek and Vojtěchov municipalities pose high risk. Internal loading from fish stocking and recreation poses high phosphorus input risk. Skalský pond as diffuse source poses high risk. Historically, cyanobacteria and bacterial contamination occurred.
