Artificial reservoir (monomict, calcareous type) fed primarily by the Yesa reservoir. Surface area: 1,086.7 hectares. Storage volume: 100 cubic hectometres. Maximum water level elevation: 288 metres. Maximum depth: 34 metres. Average depth: 10 metres. Hydraulic residence time: 42.7 months. The catchment area is 31.994 square kilometres with a mean slope of 5.84%. Annual mean precipitation: 334.78 millimetres. The reservoir bed comprises gravels, sands, and silt, with a beach substrate of herbaceous vegetation, sand, and gravel.

Location

The reservoir is located in Zaragoza Province, Aragón, spanning the municipalities of Boquiñeni and Luceni. Access from Zaragoza is via the N-232 towards Logroño, exiting at Luceni (ZP-2133). Travel along the CHE road parallel to the Imperial Canal of Aragón for approximately 3 km past livestock facilities, then turn left onto a dirt track leading to the reservoir. The Luceni bathing zone is at the end of this track; the Boquiñeni zone is accessed by turning right before reaching the reservoir intake tower. Both zones have parking available.

Boquiñeni: parking available, informational signs, rubbish bins, rubbish collection (daily by Zsurf school), domestic animal access permitted, no lifeguards, no toilets, no showers, no bar or snacks, no recreational zone. Luceni: parking available, informational signs, rubbish bins, merenderos (picnic areas), rubbish collection (daily), toilets, domestic animal access permitted, no lifeguards, no showers, no bar, no recreational zone. Both zones operate normally between July and August.

Normally July and August. The health authority establishes the official swimming calendar each season.
