Location

Saint Quentin, Aisne department, Hauts-de-France region, 37 km southeast of Cambrai. The Isle Lake beach is located at the southwest of the Isle Marshes.

Water Quality

Bacteriological water quality has been degraded, necessitating an updated profile in 2019. The profile evaluates water quality classification and identifies multiple potential pollution sources including cyanobacteria presence.

Risks

Cyanobacteria development is identified as a concern. Multiple pollution sources are present including bird populations, fishing activities, bathing activities, atmospheric pollution, accidental spills, and potential wildlife impacts. Phosphorus destocking and direct cyanobacteria input into the aquatic environment are noted as pollution risks.
