Finanza is a sandy beach in Siculiana, Sicily, with a gentle slope in the submerged area and steeply sloping terrain towards the shore. The beach is located along the Channel of Sicily coast and is classified as an excellent quality bathing water. The area is characterized by Mediterranean scrubland and seasonal residential development with limited urbanization.

Coastal marine water body in the Channel of Sicily, section 14 of the Sicily regional coast. Bathing area extends 0.202 square kilometers.

Location

Siculiana, province of Agrigento, Sicily. The competent authority is the Municipality of Siculiana, located at Piazza G. Basile, telephone 0922 815001.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The area falls within the minor hydrographic basin between Platani and Canne rivers. Existing wastewater collection network is present, though treatment plant conformity data to Directive 91/271/CE is not available.

Risks

Identified pollution sources include a sewage lifting pump, overflow from a pit, and a discharge pipe outlet on the beach. Short-term pollution events have occurred from accidental pump failure, overflow, and sewage discharge from the overflow tube. Cyanobacteria and macroalgae proliferation have not been identified.
