Water quality classification: Excellent. The catchment area is predominantly uncultivated with Mediterranean scrubland and seasonal residential development with limited urbanisation.

Risks

Pump lift malfunctions, well overflow, and discharge pipe failures on the beach have been identified as pollution sources. These failures can cause effluent discharge from the lift well and its overflow pipe. Bathing bans are imposed during anomalous events.
