Faaker See is the fifth-largest lake in Carinthia, located southeast of Villach at the foot of Mittagskogel. The glacially formed lake is divided into two basins by a soil ridge with an island rising up to 12 metres above the water surface.

Water

Glacially formed lake with an area of 220 hectares. The lake is divided into two basins: the southern basin reaches a depth of 24 metres, while the northern basin reaches a maximum depth of 29.5 metres. The western shore extends gradually and features extensive riparian vegetation.

Location

Located southeast of Villach, Austria, at the foot of Mittagskogel. The northern shore has popular tourist facilities.

Facilities

Showers and toilets are available. Dogs and other pets are prohibited at the bathing water. Other recreational activities are permitted.
