Faro-Mar is a coastal bathing water located on a beach with three distinct zones: urban with intensive use, non-urban with intensive use, and areas with restricted use associated with sensitive natural systems. The beach features golden sand and extensive dunes within the Natural Park of Ria Formosa, a Natura 2000 protected site and RAMSAR wetland. The beach spans 2200 metres in length.
