Villapiana, Cosenza Province, Calabria region. The beach extends over an area of 1.125 square kilometres and is located near the mouth of the Fiumara Saraceno.

Risks

The Fiumara Saraceno mouth has been identified as a source of pollution. Accidental failures of the biological treatment plant in Villapiana, with overflow events, have occurred. No cyanobacteria or algal blooms have been reported in the sea or inland waters in the previous four years.
