Casello 114 is a coastal bathing water located in Villapiana, Calabria. The beach features a pebbly shoreline with a straight geomorphological profile. Medium-grained sediments characterise the underwater beach, with granules ranging from 0.018 to 2 mm.

Location

Villapiana, Cosenza Province, Calabria Region. The bathing area is situated in front of wooded territories between the urban centre of Villapiana and the Pescatore Canal.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The Pescatore Canal outlet has been identified as a potential pollution source. Short-duration pollution events are associated with runoff from agricultural and urban areas.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events occur due to runoff from agricultural and urban areas via the Pescatore Canal. No cyanobacterial or algal blooms have been recorded in the past four years.
