The Tagliamento River at Cornino Cimano is a river bathing area located in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region with a pebbly shoreline. The bathing area is situated upstream of the confluence with the Ledra River in a naturally preserved area. The water quality has been classified as excellent based on monitoring data from 2015–2018.

Location

Located in Forgaria nel Friuli municipality, Province of Udine, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The bathing area extends 1.14 km and is centred at coordinates 46.216731°N, 13.018832°E.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia coli (90th percentile) 255 CFU/100ml, (95th percentile) 410 CFU/100ml. Intestinal enterococci (90th percentile) 85 CFU/100ml, (95th percentile) 140 CFU/100ml. No significant variations in water quality status were observed during bathing seasons 2015–2018. No treatment plants directly influence the bathing area.

Risks

Water level fluctuations result from hydroelectric power generation returns from the Somplago plant via the Leale stream. Short-duration pollution events may occur during unfavourable meteorological conditions such as intense rainfall or drought periods, which can increase microbiological contaminant concentrations. No cyanobacterial blooms or toxic algal proliferation has been recorded.
