Foce Acqua Dei Ranci is a sandy bathing water area located in Capaccio, in the province of Salerno, Italy. The beach is characterized by sandy shores with the presence of tourist structures and facilities. The area is situated along a low-lying coast with residential settlements alternating with agricultural zones inland. The bathing water is monitored at a single point near the mouth of the Acqua dei Ranci stream.

Coastal bathing water with sandy beach. Low-lying coastline. Contains drainage channels and the Acqua dei Ranci stream at the center, with the Solofrone river to the east and sulfurous water stream to the west.

Location

Capaccio, province of Salerno, Italy. The monitoring point is located at latitude 40.3870, longitude 14.9995, at the mouth of the Acqua dei Ranci watercourse.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023). Monitored under Italian Legislative Decree 116/2008.

Risks

Pollution sources identified include: a sulfurous watercourse to the west; a sewage pumping station near Park Hotel to the west; and the mouth of the Solofrone river to the east. Urban wastewater treatment via an activated sludge biological treatment plant located in Gromola discharges via submarine pipeline.
