A sandy beach bathing water area located at the mouth of the Fortore River, 30 metres upstream on the north side. The water body is classified as excellent quality based on monitoring data from 2017–2020. The area is situated in the Chieuti-Foce Fortore water body in Puglia, southern Italy.

Coastal marine water. The bathing area extends 1.128 square kilometres. The Fortore River forms the eastern boundary of the bathing zone.

Location

Serracapriola municipality, Foggia province, Puglia region, Italy. The bathing area is located at the mouth of the Fortore River on the north side.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct wastewater discharges to sea are present. The Fortore River mouth at the eastern limit represents the only potential point source of pollution affecting bathing water quality.

Risks

The Fortore River mouth is identified as a potential pollution source. No short-duration pollution events were recorded in the four years prior to the profile date. No cyanobacterial or algal blooms were detected. The area is not characterised by harmful algal or cyanobacterial proliferation.
