Marine-coastal water body. Area: 0.531 km². Hydrographic basin: Canale acquarotta. The water body is bounded on the east by the mouth of the Fortore River.

Location

Serracapriola, Province of Foggia, Puglia region. The bathing area is situated at the mouth of the Fortore River, approximately 30 metres to the right of the river mouth.

Water Quality

Classified as excellent quality for the period 2017–2020. No direct wastewater discharges to the sea are present. No short-duration pollution events were recorded in the last four years. No toxic algal blooms or potentially toxic phytoplankton species were detected.

Risks

The mouth of the Fortore River is located at the eastern boundary of the bathing area and represents a potential source of point-source pollution affecting water quality.
