Water Quality

Water quality classification: elevato (excellent). Classification based on 95th and 90th percentile values. No active specific monitoring for pollutant concentration is currently in place. Two urban wastewater treatment plants are active in the municipality for populations exceeding 2000 population equivalents.

Risks

Mollusk farming (molluschicoltura) is identified as a source of pollution impact on bathing water. Short-duration pollution events are still under study regarding appropriate modeling approaches. No cyanobacteria proliferation events recorded in the past four years. The area is not subject to blooms of macroalgae or potentially toxic microalgae.
