Location

Butera, Caltanissetta Province, Sicily. The competent authority is the Port Authority of Gela (Capitaneria di Porto di Gela), Lungomare Federico II di Svevia 156, Gela, tel. 0933.91775, and the Municipality of Butera, Via A. Moro 6, tel. 0934.1930525.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is excellent. Two sections of the bathing area are prohibited for safety reasons due to the presence of unstable cliffs and ordinances issued by the Port Authority of Gela: one section approximately 700 metres long and another approximately 250 metres long.

Risks

Two restricted areas exist due to unstable cliff faces (franosi costoni) posing safety hazards. These sections total approximately 950 metres.
