Freizeitanlage Doornkaatsweg is a recreational facility covering approximately 7 hectares in the municipality of Großheide. The bathing area is centred on a lake created by sand extraction, with a water surface of approximately 4.5 hectares and a maximum depth of about 10 metres. The lake forms a closed system with no inflows or discharges that could affect bathing. A non-swimmer area is marked by a swimming barrier line.
