Freizeitsee Wietmarschen Ost is a relatively young inland lake of approximately 11 hectares with a sandy beach. The lake is situated in an agricultural landscape of fields, meadows, and hedgerows. The municipality of Wietmarschen has developed recreational facilities including a beach volleyball field, children's playground, and small kiosk to make it an attractive swimming destination for families. Fresh water supply comes from groundwater inflow.
