Furnas is a coastal bathing water located on a golden sand beach in the Natural Park of Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina and within a Natura 2000 site. The beach has restricted use and is associated with sensitive natural systems. A temporary watercourse discharges onto the beach, and the area is characterized by eroded limestone cliffs. The beach extends 140 metres with a tidal range of 3.4–3.5 metres and mean wave height of 1 metre.
