Gdynia Śródmieście is a bathing area located 220 metres from the southern breakwater in Gdynia, covering 200 metres of coastline and extending 50 metres into the sea. Water quality monitoring in the 2024 season showed no microbiological exceedances. Bathing was prohibited 4 times due to cyanobacterial blooms. The water has been classified as excellent for the period 2021–2024.

Gdynia, Śródmieście district, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. Located 220 metres from the southern breakwater in Gdynia.

Designated swimming zone, beach recreation and sports area, water intake point, accessible for disabled persons, waste bins, toilets, showers, changing rooms, WOPR flag mast, lifeguard, children's bathing area, children's beach area, pet ban, information board, bathing regulations available.

Season

27 June 2025 to 31 August 2025. Operating hours: 09:30 to 17:30.

Water Quality

Water classified as excellent quality for 2016–2025. Maximum permissible thresholds: Escherichia coli 1000 CFU/100 ml; Enterococci 400 CFU/100 ml. Monitoring results from 2024 showed no microbiological exceedances. Cyanobacterial blooms occurred on multiple occasions, resulting in bathing prohibitions.

Risks

Cyanobacterial blooms. Cyanobacterial blooms occurred 4 times during the 2024 season and may occur in the 2025 season. Residual tar deposits were recorded on one occasion in 2018 and one occasion in 2016.
