Gleuensee is a tunnel valley lake located approximately 3 km northeast of Templin on the southeastern edge of the Mecklenburg Lake District in the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park. The lake is approximately 1.7 km long and 200 m wide, extending in a north-south direction with a surface area of 36.5 hectares and a maximum depth of 10 metres. The lake receives inflows from the Trebowseegraben in the north and the Knehdenfließ from the southwest. The eastern shore is completely forested, while the western shore is partially forested with adjoining wetland meadows.
