Große Plötze is a lake located approximately 12 km north of Oranienburg in the Neuhofer Heath. The lake has a water surface area of 5.9 hectares and a maximum depth of approximately 5 metres. The almost circular lake is almost completely enclosed by reeds except for the northeast. A broad tree border separates the lake from surrounding forest areas, with the locality of Neuendorf located to the southwest and a camping site to the southeast. The lake receives inflow from the Plötzengraben channel.
