Großer See near Fürstenwerder is located approximately 20 km northwest of Prenzlau in the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park, bordering Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The 357-hectare lake basin is characterized by many bays, small islands, and two large peninsulas, with a maximum depth of 20 meters. The lake receives inflow from four smaller streams and channels draining a catchment area of approximately 50 square kilometers, which is dominated by agricultural land. The bathing site has been classified as excellent for water quality from 2016–2024.
