Großer Zeschsee is located approximately 12 km south of Zossen in the Luckenwalder Heath region. The lake covers 37.6 hectares with a maximum depth of 15 metres and is fed by groundwater emerging at the south and west shores, supplemented by two small source streams. The catchment area is only 4.7 km² in size and consists almost entirely of forest (90%) and wetlands (5%). The lake maintains stable temperature stratification in summer and exhibits summer visibility depths between 1.4 and 2.2 metres, providing excellent conditions for bathing.
