Wünsdorfer See is a natural lake situated approximately 7 km south of Zossen on the edge of Luckenwalde Heath. It forms part of a lake chain connected to Wolziger See and Mellensee, with water eventually draining into the River Dahme via the Notte Canal. The lake has a surface area of 161 hectares and a maximum depth of 10.8 metres. It is surrounded by settlements on 75 percent of its shoreline but maintains a well-developed reed belt. The lake exhibits stable temperature stratification during summer months.
