Hättebaden is the largest bathing place in Tranås municipality, located in Lake Sommen. The bathing area comprises a peninsula and a bay with approximately 300 metres of sandy beach and partial rocky bottom. Large grass areas surround the beach on the peninsula and above the bay shoreline. The water is not shallow; depth exceeds two metres beyond the jetty, and visibility normally exceeds three metres. Vegetation around the beach consists mainly of pine and birch trees.
