Location

Nova Siri, Matera province, Basilicata region. The bathing area is bounded by coordinates 40.128562 -16.659401 to 40.125429 -16.655121. Sampling point is 150 metres south of the Nova Siri pumping station.

Season

1 May to 30 September. Monitoring period: 1 April to 30 September with monthly sampling frequency.

Water Quality

Water quality classification based on reference period 2017–2020. No bathing prohibitions were in effect for the 2020 bathing season.

Risks

Discharge from Nova Siri pumping station (Canale Idrovora di Nova Siri) creates a non-swimmable zone with a 40-metre width centred on the discharge outlet.
